The Anambra State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to uphold the law and protect citizens, with the arraignment of three male suspects before the Special Court in Awka. Chizitem Nwankwo, 20, Uche Paul, 36, and Chinedu Maduekwe, 40, were remanded in a correctional centre in the state pending further court proceedings.
The suspects were arraigned for offences bordering on unnatural acts, contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code Act. The police conducted a meticulous investigation, gathering credible intelligence and evidence that led to the suspects’ arrest and subsequent arraignment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all criminal cases are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. “We urge the public to continue providing useful information that can aid the police in maintaining law and order across the state,” he said. “Justice will always be pursued within the bounds of the law.
The case highlights the police command’s determination to tackle unnatural offences in the state. The suspects’ remand in custody pending trial serves as a deterrent to others who may be involved in similar activities
