Dr. Moses Paul Ogigi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in the 2026 Abuja Municipal Area Council election, has claimed victory, stating that he had won the election by 3 pm on Saturday before alleged manipulations occurred.
In an interview on Arise News, Ogigi expressed disappointment and frustration with the electoral process, citing imposition of curfews, result mutilation, vote buying, and harassment of ADC members. “These particular elections will be a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey,” he said.
Ogigi alleged that vote buying was rampant and that the APC candidate was declared winner despite his own victory. “By 3 pm, I had already won the elections across the board, and then magic began to happen,” he said, rejecting the results announced by INEC.
The ADC candidate’s claims highlight concerns about the integrity of the electoral process and the need for transparency and accountability in Nigerian elections.
