Nigerian singer Portable has expressed frustration over the low income he earns from music streaming platforms, despite releasing new songs almost every month. In a recent video, the Zazu crooner lamented that his Apple Music revenue doesn’t reflect the effort he puts into his music.
Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, said he has fans outside Nigeria, including in the US, and questioned why his international streams aren’t generating more revenue. He’s now turned to music mogul Don Jazzy for help, asking him to share tips on how to boost his streaming income.
“I’m in pain, I’ve been putting my song on Apple Music every month but the money I am generating is too low,” Portable said. “Don Jazzy, please, help me and teach me how to generate more money from music streams.”
