Tinubu Dispatches Shettima to Kebbi as Hunt for Abducted Schoolgirls Intensifies
President Bola Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to visit Kebbi State to convey the Federal Government’s sympathy and reassure parents of the abducted schoolgirls that efforts are underway to secure their safe release. The President also extended condolences to the Nigerian military following the death of soldiers, including Brigadier General Musa Uba, in Borno State .
Tinubu expressed sadness over the abduction, despite intelligence reports suggesting a possible attack, and commended Kebbi State Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris for efforts to prevent the incident. He urged citizens to work closely with security agencies, providing timely information to avert such attacks.
“I am depressed that heartless terrorists have disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have directed security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back,” Tinubu said.
