The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned three suspects before the Federal High Court in Abuja for alleged conspiracy, breach of trust and fraud involving the sum of $100,000.
The defendants, identified as George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, were brought before Court 6 in Maitama, Abuja.
This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
According to the Police, the case originated from a complaint that the suspects allegedly received $100,000 from a petitioner in 2009 for the procurement and shipment of automobile spare parts from the United States.
Investigators alleged that the suspects failed to execute the transaction as agreed and diverted the funds for other purposes.
The arraignment followed a detailed investigation carried out by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, which handles cross-border financial crimes.
After the arraignment, the court adjourned the matter till December 3, 2026, for further hearing.
The Police Force reiterated its commitment to thoroughly investigating financial crimes and ensuring offenders are prosecuted in line with the law.
