In a daring operation, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command’s Special Anti-Cultism Squad have arrested a suspected cultist and armed robber, Chiemerie Udeh, aged 22, along Ukpomili-Ifitedunu Road in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
The police intercepted a black-colored Lexus car with registration number RSH 613 AZ, driven by the suspect, during a routine patrol on the evening of October 16, 2025. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a locally made pistol and five rounds of live ammunition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle may have been stolen and was being used for a planned rivalry cult attack. The suspect is currently in police custody, and the firearm, ammunition, and vehicle have been seized as exhibits for further investigation .
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming the command’s commitment to tackling cultism and violent crimes in the state. This arrest is a significant breakthrough in the police’s efforts to maintain law and order in Anambra State
