In a daring operation, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command’s Special Anti-Cultism Squad have arrested a suspected cultist and armed robber, Chiemerie Udeh, aged 22, along Ukpomili-Ifitedunu Road in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The police intercepted a black-colored Lexus car with registration number RSH 613 AZ, driven by the suspect, during a routine patrol on the evening of October 16, 2025. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a locally made pistol and five rounds of live ammunition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle may have been stolen and was being used for a planned rivalry cult attack. The suspect is currently in police custody, and the firearm, ammunition, and vehicle have been seized as exhibits for further investigation .

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming the command’s commitment to tackling cultism and violent crimes in the state.
