The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ebonyi has announced the arrest of 157 suspects and seizure of 134.483kg of illicit drugs in the state between October and December 2025.
The state NDLEA Commander, Mr Jude Ahamefule, revealed that the arrests included 123 males and 34 females, with six convictions secured. The seized substances include cannabis sativa, heroin, methamphetamine, tramadol, diazepan, and psychotropic substances.
The breakdown of seizures includes 106.978kg of cannabis sativa, 2619 capsules of tramadol (100mg), 1.407kg of methamphetamine, 0.0589kg of diazepan, and 0.161kg of phenobarbitone syrup.
The NDLEA has also rehabilitated and discharged four clients, while six are undergoing rehabilitation. Ahamefule pledged the command’s commitment to fighting drug abuse and trafficking, urging those involved to desist from the illegal trade.
The NDLEA continues to work towards a drug-free society, encouraging community support and cooperation in the fight against illicit drugs.
