The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, in partnership with the German Embassy, has trained women journalists on investigative and gender-sensitive reporting as part of activities marking International Womenโs Day 2026.
Former NAWOJ National President, Comrade Ladi Bala, urged participants to be agents of change, support one another in leadership, and apply a gender lens in their work to boost womenโs visibility in the media. She said women remain underrepresented in coverage and called for more inclusive, justice-driven reporting.
โThe issues of justice, rights and action are needed in the media space too. For instance, women are grossly marginalised in the pattern of our reportage when it comes to gender reporting,โ she said.
Participants described the training as insightful and impactful, adding that the knowledge gained would strengthen their professional practice and storytelling.
