The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Riliwan Disu, on Wednesday welcomed the President of the Defence and Police Officersโ Wives Association, Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, and other leaders of security spousesโ groups to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation included Chief Mrs. Mutiat Disu of POWA, Mrs. Safiya Shuaibu of NAOWA, Mrs. Aisha Idi Abbas of NOWA, Mrs. Ngozi Aneke of NAFOWA, and Mrs. Jane Undiandeye, Coordinator of the Defence Intelligence Agency Wives Association.
Talks during the courtesy visit focused on strengthening partnership to advance the associationsโ mandate of improving the well-being of officers and their families.
Commending DEPOWA as a key support structure for security personnel, IGP Disu restated the Police Forceโs commitment to sustaining welfare programs. He highlighted priority areas to include economic empowerment, mental health support, quality healthcare, and education โ all aimed at improving morale and operational effectiveness.
The Nigeria Police Force also expressed appreciation to DEPOWA and similar organizations for their consistent support to officers across the countryโs security institutions.
