The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved fresh postings for commissioners of police across eight state commands and several critical units within the Nigeria Police Force.
The redeployment was made public on Thursday evening following clearance from the Police Service Commission.
In a statement signed by Force spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu, the IGP said the shake-up is part of efforts to boost operational efficiency and sustain reforms in the Force.
According to him, the new appointments are meant to strengthen leadership at both state command and specialised formation levels.
New State Command CPs
The officers posted to head state commands are:
- Afolabi Olutokunbo โ Abia
- Ayodeji Faniyan โ Plateau
- Saka Ajao โ Bayelsa
- Ajo Ordue โ Cross River
- Nanna Ama โ Anambra
- Patrick Daaor โ Edo
- Tani Murtala โ Jigawa
- Samuel Erale โ Delta
Other Key Deployments
The IGP also ordered redeployments at Force Headquarters, the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Force Intelligence Department, Police Academy, Police Staff College, and other units.
Notable postings include CP Yemi Oyeniyi to the Intelligence and Training Department of the FID in Abuja, and CP Charles Dike as head of INTERPOL at the FCID.
Other strategic sections affected include the Counter Terrorism Unit, Anti-Human Trafficking Section, Anti-Fraud Unit, General Investigation, Finance and Administration, Inspectorate, Welfare, and Training and Development.
Mr. Disu urged the newly posted officers to deploy their experience to advance intelligence-driven policing, enhance service delivery, uphold professionalism, and improve community relations.
He further charged them to remain committed to safeguarding lives and property while maintaining discipline, accountability, and high performance standard
