New England Revolution kept their strong start to the MLS season going with a dominant 3-0 away victory over DC United on Wednesday, http://Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

The star of the night was Alhassan Yusuf, who netted his first professional hat-trick to lead the Revs to all three points.

The Nigerian midfielder broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, then added a second just before the break to give New England control. He completed his treble 21 minutes into the second half with a close-range header, sealing a perfect Man of the Match outing.

The three goals take Yusuf to 5 goals and 2 assists for the season — his best scoring return in a single campaign to date.

He also made club history, becoming only the eighth Revolution player to score a hat-trick in a regular-season MLS game. He’s the first to achieve the feat since Kei Kamara did it nine years ago.

Yusuf was well supported by new Designated Player Jack Harrison. The winger had a hand in all three goals, providing assists for each of Yusuf’s strikes as he continues to settle in with the squad.
