Los Angeles, June 2026 – Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has broken his tie with fellow Afrobeats star Tems to become the African artist with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

The pair were previously tied with eight entries each. Burna Boy moved ahead this week after his collaboration with Shakira, “Dai Dai,” the official World Cup anthem, debuted at No. 75 on the chart. The new entry takes his total to nine, the highest by any African artist.

“Dai Dai” gained fresh momentum after Burna Boy and Shakira performed the song live during the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony.

The hit also extends Burna Boy’s record as the first African artist to chart at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.
