Banik Ostrava defender Abdullahi Bewene is suddenly one of Nigeria’s hottest transfer targets after his breakthrough with the Super Eagles, http://hardtalkinternationalmagazine.com reports.
The 21-year-old was a late call-up by head coach Eric Chelle but wasted no time proving his worth. He stood out against Poland and Portugal, then came off the bench yesterday to show his starting display vs Portugal wasn’t a fluke. His composure and energy earned applause from teammates.
His representative says interest is already flooding in. Around six clubs from Belgium have made enquiries, plus one from Ligue 1 in France. Other clubs monitoring him include Austria’s LASK, Czech giants Slavia Prague, and Swiss side FC Basel.
A decision on his next move is expected in the coming days. His camp says the priority is a transfer where Bewene is guaranteed playing time to keep developing and lock down his spot in the senior national team.
Bewene’s rise from Czech league defender to Super Eagles regular in one international break has put him firmly on European radars.
