Abuja, June 2026 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced the price of premium motor spirit just seven days after Dangote Refinery adjusted its gantry price.
A market survey by DAILY POST on Tuesday morning showed that NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja and surrounding areas have cut petrol price to ₦1,260 per litre, down from ₦1,335. That represents a ₦75 per litre reduction.
The new price is already in effect at NNPCL stations along Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6 (Berger), and Zone 4 in Abuja as of the time of filing this report.
The adjustment follows Dangote Refinery’s decision on June 16 to reduce its petrol gantry price to ₦1,175 per litre, a move triggered by falling crude oil prices. The reduction has since led to lower retail fuel prices nationwide.
DAILY POST earlier reported that other filling stations including MRS were selling petrol between ₦1,241 and ₦1,300 per litre across Abuja before NNPCL’s price cut.
