LAGOS — Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen says he hopes to go back to school and obtain a university degree once his football career comes to an end, stressing that learning remains a key personal goal.

Speaking in an Instablog TV interview that has since gone viral, the 27-year-old Galatasaray striker reflected on life lessons gained since leaving the classroom and why he believes athletes should plan beyond the pitch.

“As an adult, not everything I learned in school. There are some kinds of life lessons you encounter through life’s journey,” Osimhen said.

He noted that a football career does not last forever, making it important to prepare for what comes next.
“For me, it would be an amazing thing to also try to get a degree, which I’m still considering because football, you won’t play for so long, probably 20, 25 years, and then you’re done.”

While acknowledging that he has other ventures to fall back on after retirement, Osimhen said earning a degree would be meaningful to him personally and could serve as motivation for younger people.

“In as much as I have a lot of things to fall back to when I’m done, I think it’s still important for me to set an example, to set a standard for the younger generation.”

The Napoli loanee also encouraged youths who had to pause their studies due to financial or personal difficulties, saying it is never too late to return.
“Even though you dropped out due to some kind of challenges you have, it’s something you can always go back to. School is always there,” he said.

Osimhen did not disclose when he plans to enroll or what field he intends to study.
His comments have drawn positive reactions online, with many fans praising the message that education remains valuable regardless of career success.
