ROME — AS Roma are not focused solely on Mason Greenwood as they look to strengthen their attack this summer.

According to Gian Piero Gasperini, the club needs at least two new starting players behind Donyell Malen, who was the only Roma forward to reach double figures for goals last season.

Gasperini has made it clear the Giallorossi must add attackers who can hurt opposing defenses and have a natural eye for goal. One of the wingers being closely monitored is Alejandro Garnacho.

The 2004-born Argentine possesses qualities the Roma coach values: pace, dribbling ability, and unpredictability. His direct running, bursts of acceleration, and technical quality make the left winger an ideal fit for Gasperini’s system.

As reported by Il Messaggero, all eyes are on Garnacho, but Chelsea are currently reluctant to sanction a loan move.

Gasperini has given his approval for the 21-year-old, but the deal remains complicated.

The Blues would prefer to sell the winger outright, meaning even a loan with an option to buy would not be enough to persuade them.

Garnacho, a former Manchester United player, could become a realistic target later in August if Chelsea’s stance changes. He ended last season with Chelsea with 8 goals and 4 assists in 2,153 minutes across all competitions.
